How to access your Returns Settings

To access your Returns Settings, open your Returns Dashboard and go to Settings > Return Policy Rules.

You can edit your settings at any time based on your business needs.

Managing your Returns Settings

Item condition settings

Note: Item condition settings only apply to your listings if free returns are activated (for more information, see Return type settings below).

From Settings > Return Policy Rules > Allow to return, you can select the items you would like to accept free returns for based on their item condition.

For instance, you might want to offer free returns only on your new items (and buyer-paid returns for your used items).

Clicking the toggle icon next to the item condition turns the setting on and off. A right-leaning (blue) toggle indicates that you accept free returns for items with that specified item condition, whereas the converse indicates that you do not accept free returns for items with that specified item condition.

Return type settings

Under Free returns settings, you can specify the type of return you want to offer:

  • Free returns (recommended)
  • Buyer paid returns (set by default)
  • Original return policies (apply your domestic listing return policies from eBay to your international (Webinterpret) listings)

Note: Enabling free domestic returns and selecting Original return policies for international markets will result in free returns being applied to your international (Webinterpret) listings.

To select a return type, click on the drop-down menu under OFFER RETURNS and select one of the above options.

Policy duration settings

Next to the Return type settings, you can choose the duration that your buyer has to return an item:

  • 60 days (recommended)
  • 30 days
  • 14 days

To select a policy duration, click on the checkbox to the left of the option. Policy durations can only be set for the free returns and buyer paid returns return types.

Note: 60 days is activated by default (as they have been shown to deliver the highest sales growth).

How to turn off Webinterpret Returns

Reminder: Webinterpret Returns is an included service in select domestic selling plans. This means that there is no additional cost for free remorse return labels for your domestic listings.

To turn off Webinterpret Returns (free returns), go to Settings > Return Policy Rules > Free returns settings and select a different return type next to the market(s) you wish to turn off (either Buyer paid returns or Original return policies).
