Reviewing and editing Webinterpret’s suggestions

Filtering your items

Once Webinterpret has fetched all of your items requiring GPSR compliance, they will be organized in a table by brand name. The red badge to the right of each brand name represents the number of items requiring GPSR data/product information validation.

Basic filters are visible by default. Click Show more filters to reveal the complete list of available options for filtering.

Filters allow you to quickly locate products by various criteria, such as their brand name (Brand), selling category (Category), and validation status (Status).

Validation statuses

Each item is assigned one of four statuses: missing information, not validated, validated, or published:
1. missing information refers to items that are missing GPSR data and product information after Webinterpret has fetched your items and made automated suggestions. If Webinterpret cannot retrieve all of the required information for your item, you must complete its information manually to move on to the next step.
2. not validated refers to items that are not missing information, and are ready to be validated.
3. validated refers to items you have approved as being GPSR compliant after reviewing and accepting Webinterpret’s GPSR data suggestions and completing any missing information. Items with this status cannot be edited.
4. published refers to items that have been published on eBay after you have validated them. Items with this status can be edited and re-validated.

Filtering your items by Status can help you quickly identify items that need the most attention, such as those marked with missing information.

Editing individual items

Note: Items with a validated status cannot be edited until their status has been changed to published.

Click the downward-facing arrow to the far right of a brand name to reveal the list of items belonging to that brand.

For each item, you can perform three item-level actions: Download, Upload, and Edit:

  • Download allows you to retrieve available product documentation for review.
  • Upload allows you to add missing product information, such as product safety instructions (a window will open through which you can add files stored on your computer).
  • Edit allows you to manually add missing information to the item (a sidebar will appear displaying the same information as is contained in the table, with options for manual editing). Editable fields on the item-level include Country of Origin, CЄ marking, Safety warnings, Disposal instruction, Product composition, Manufacturer, and EU Responsible Person.

Important: You must click Add to apply the selected information to your item. You must then click Save at the bottom of the sidebar to apply all of the item-level changes to the product.

Bulk editing items

Note: Items with a validated status cannot be edited until their status has been changed to published.

Besides item-level editing, bulk editing for multiple items is available to streamline the process. To bulk edit multiple items, select the desired items from the table and click Actions.

The same fields for item-level editing are available for bulk editing: Country of Origin, CЄ marking, Safety warnings, Disposal instruction, Product composition, Manufacturer, and EU Responsible Person.

Once you select a field to edit, the value will be applied to all of the selected items. Click Save once you have entered a value.

Note: Manufacturer or EU Responsible Person information can be selected from the dropdown, or added as a new record. Existing data cannot be edited for these fields.

Using the EU Responsible Person Assessment tool

The Assessment column shows the number of conditions an item has fulfilled in order to assign Webinterpret as its EU Responsible Person:

  • A green status means that all conditions have been met (13 out of 13).
  • A red status means that only some conditions have been met (less than 13 out of 13).
  • not eligible status means that Webinterpret cannot be assigned as the item's EU Responsible Person as its selling category is not supported. To validate the item, you must provide its EU Responsible Person information.

To see a detailed list of conditions, hover your mouse over the green or red status. Individual conditions have their own status indicator:

  • A green dot means that the condition has been met.
  • A red dot means that only part of the condition has been met.

When items have a red status, review their full list of conditions and provide the requested missing information using the Upload and Edit actions.

When editing items at the item-level, the Assessment section under EU Responsible Person displays the same list of conditions that must be met in order to assign Webinterpret as its EU Responsible Person.

Some conditions can be adjusted manually by moving the yes / no toggle. Other conditions may require additional actions, such as uploading documentation using the Upload action.

Validating your items as GPSR compliant

Once your items have a validation status of not validated, they are ready for the validation process.

Important: While Webinterpret automatically suggests data for your listings to comply with the GPSR, it is your responsibility to review and ensure the validity of this data.

To validate your items, select the desired items from the table, or the global option, and click Validate.

Note: Items with the status missing information cannot be validated.

Webinterpret will start validating your items. This process may take a few minutes. While editing options are disabled during the validation process, you can cancel validation while it is still ongoing.

Next steps after validation

You can check how many of your items have been validated, not validated, and are still missing information from the main screen of your Webinterpret Dashboard:

When a validated item has been sold in the EU, its label will be available from the Orders tab in the Webinterpret Dashboard. See How to affix your GPSR compliant label for more information.
