Learn how to activate eBay’s Time Away feature to manage your listings when you’re on a break.

What is the Time Away feature?

Once in a while, you probably need to step away from running your store and take some time off. The Time Away feature allows eBay sellers to manage their listings while on a break without disrupting their business or compromising the overall buyer experience.

Whether you want to temporarily pause your sales or allow purchases while you're away, Time Away ensures that your performance doesn’t slip during this period.

How to set up Time Away

1. Visit your Time Away settings in your eBay account.
2. Click Schedule time away.

3. Select either Allow item sales (to keep your listings active) or Pause item sales (to hide listings from search and prevent purchases while you are away).
4. Set your Start date and End date.
5. Click Apply.

Note: During your scheduled time away, you can allow item sales for up to 15 days or pause your sales for up to 30 days.

Key points

Below are some key points to keep in mind once the Time Away feature is enabled:

  • Time Away will automatically apply to your international (Webinterpret) listings.
  • A visible banner at the top of your listings will notify buyers you’re on time away.
  • Handling and estimated delivery times will automatically update for most of your items (see the eBay article linked below for more details).
  • Paused listings may take a few hours to hide and reappear after your return.
  • You are responsible for fulfilling orders and handling cases for items that sell before the time away period begins.
