How do I know if my items need to be compliant with the GPSR?
The GPSR applies to all non-food consumer products sold in the EU that are not already covered by specific EU directives or regulations. This includes both offline and online sales, as well as new and second-hand products. Examples of product categories that are not subject to the GPSR include Medical Devices, Food and Food Products, Pharmaceuticals, and Antiques.
Which information do I need to provide (and where) to be GPSR compliant?
Information needs to be provided on labels (manufacturer’s identification, product identification, product safety disclosures and hazardous materials labelling, and EU Responsible Person identification), product documentation (technical documentation and the Declaration of Conformity, if applicable), and online listings. See Requirements for GPSR compliance for more information.
Which information do I need to provide to Webinterpret for my listings to be GPSR compliant?
Webinterpret gathers and suggests GPSR data for your products when it’s available within our database. If GPSR data is already available on your domestic listings, Webinterpret will copy and translate your GPSR documentation to your international Webinterpret listings. In the event that GPSR data is not available for your products, you will need to provide us with the remaining information and data that is required for full compliance.
Will I be able to see what information has been added to my listing before it is updated?
Yes. Keep in mind that Webinterpret only suggests information to be added to your listings for GPSR compliance. It is your responsibility to validate the suggested data and fill in any missing data before your listings are validated.
How long will it take for Webinterpret to add the GPSR data to my listings?
Once you have reviewed, edited, and validated Webinterpret’s GPSR data suggestions, your domestic and international listings will be updated with this information within 24 hours.
Where do I need to add GPSR compliant information to my physical items when they are shipped to the EU?
GPSR compliant information needs to be included on your physical items or on their packaging when shipped to the EU. Product documentation and labels must be translated into the destination country’s EU language.
How and where does Webinterpret retrieve the GPSR data for my items?
Webinterpret retrieves the GPSR data for your items directly from our database which is built using a combination of privately owned and publicly available data sources, along with the data you submitted on eBay for your items.
What are the conditions for Webinterpret to act as my EU Responsible Person?
Webinterpret can be appointed as your Responsible Person within the EU, provided that your products comply with the GPSR regulation, are vetted by our team, and follow Webinterpret’s Terms of Use.
Is dropshipping supported with Webinterpret’s GPSR compliance solution?
Webinterpret is unable to support dropshipping as businesses do not have direct access to physical packages, which are often shipped from various locations. As such, this setup does not allow for the proper application of GPSR-compliant labels and documentation onto physical packages.
Can I print a GPSR label for any package as long as GPSR information is uploaded to Webinterpret’s system?
For now, GPSR labels will only be available for items ordered in the EU through eBay and will be available for download once the purchase is completed.
Can I select the items that I want enriched with GPSR data on the GPSR Starter plan?
Yes. If you subscribe to a GPSR plan, you can select which items to enrich with GPSR data. You can request enrichment for specific products or for a portion of your inventory through Webinterpret.
Will Webinterpret verify the required documentation for my products once I upload them to Webinterpret’s system?
Webinterpret will verify documentation if we have been appointed as your Responsible Person within the EU.
Can Webinterpret translate product documentation that is uploaded as an image file?
Webinterpret cannot translate text from image files. Our system can only translate text from PDF files.
Does Webinterpret translate product documentation for all 24 EU languages?
For now, translation is available in the target eBay site’s official language. Webinterpret is working on having translation available in all 24 official EU languages, for all countries.
Can Webinterpret confirm whether my products require the CЄ marking?
No, Webinterpret cannot confirm any information about your products as we cannot provide legal advice. Webinterpret suggests information to be added to your listings for GPSR compliance; it is your responsibility to validate the suggested data and fill in any missing data (including the CЄ marking) before your listings are validated.
Which channels and marketplaces is Webinterpret’s GPSR compliance solution available for?
For now, Webinterpret’s GPSR compliance solution is only available for eBay. GPSR compliance for Amazon is currently underway, and we expect to provide an update by the end of 2024.
